Hello everyone! I started a Skincare Project Pan a few months where I picked up 6 skincare products from my stash and tried to finish them off or get good use out of them. If you haven’t read the post before then check it out now to have an idea of where I started from, it’s 6 Skincare by June.
Today I will be doing an update on that Project and will let you know of the progress I made. Since I was using them continuously for 3 months, it gave me a fair idea of how those products performed so I’ll be including mini-reviews of them too.
Let’s get started!
1. Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF50+
My main purpose of including this sunscreen was to make sure I don’t skip SPF any day. This is a chemical sunscreen with broad-spectrum protection.
I have sensitive skin so when I applied it the area around my mouth used to sting for good 5-10 minutes. I have heard other people have faced a similar problem, obviously, they had sensitive skin too.

The top line shows where I was when I started and the one below that shows where I am now at the finale.
I did use it consistently but then summer in India got nasty and this wasn’t very suitable for my super oily skin as this is slightly moisturizing and doesn’t set to a matte finish. I switched to another sunscreen by Lotus hence I wasn’t able to finish it off.
2. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture SPF15
I included this because I didn’t like how this worked on my skin type. I had been neglecting this for so long so I thought maybe including it in a Project Pan might help me get some good uses out of it. But I was wrong!
There’s hardly any progress made and I think I’ll have to use it in my own pace or maybe not use it at all. This product is seriously not good for oily skin, it makes my face shiny everytime I wear it.

This is one of my YouTubers made my buy it product and well they made me buy a wrong one! I have had this for almost a year now so I have tried and tested it in every season and this doesn’t work for oily skin at least in Indian weather.
It works fine for me in winter and I guess that’s when I will try and use it or maybe use it in my arms, I don’t know.
However, if you have dry to normal skin it’d be a good choice as it has SPF too.
3. The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter
I love body butters! I know they take some time to get completely absorbed but my skin loves them. But Indian summers don’t really allow you to wear thick body creams and that’s why I added this.
I wanted to finish it off because I knew I wouldn’t be able to use it once we enter summers and then the humid rainy season.

I’m completely done with it as you can see in the picture.
You might have seen it in the intro as well how much I like this. It’s very hydrating and my dry-itchy-out-of-the-shower skin loves it.
Also, why is The Body Shop so expensive in India? ₹1,045 for 2000ml, that’s close to $15! And with hardly any offers.
I checked their USA website and it’s for $6 plus 40% on it!
4. Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Oatmeal & Yogurt Skin Whitening Scrub
I’d say I’m not really a fan of this one. Firstly, all Lotus products are loaded with paraben yet they claim to be “Herbal”.
My skin is very sensitive so most of the times when I use a physical exfoliant/ scrub, I get tiny bumps on my face which do calm down the next day. Ever since I have started using chemical exfoliants I don’t think those scrubbing sessions are worth the pain.

This one does take care of the dead skin cells but doesn’t work on blackheads and whiteheads. It’s also not very gentle on the face.
Moreover, the beads in the scrub aren’t good for the environment. They are made of plastic and don’t dissolve. When washed off to sea, they harm aquatic life and can be harmful to you too if you consume seafood.
I did get a few uses out of it and I’m going to use the rest of them to exfoliate my arms and legs just to finish it off.
5. Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin E & Peppermint
I love Burt’s Bees lip balms. I have had 2 of these for 2 years almost and I thought of concentrating on one at a time and finish them off before they go bad.

These lip balms are very moisturizing and have a waxy texture. I don’t have to keep reapplying it, 2-3 times a day is more than enough for me. It does heal the lips and works as a great lip primer too.
I haven’t finished it up but did make some good progress.
6. Fuller’s Earth
This was the last product in the project pan and I added it because I had a lot of it and wanted to use some up.
These are great for oily skin and its DIY masks are amazing but with DIYs, you can go off the routine because they do need a little effort. I completely used that up.
I do have another bigger jar of it but I think I’m going to declutter it and use up the ready-to-use face packs because I’m regular with them.
Conclusion
Overall, I’m happy with this project pan. I didn’t finish all of them but was at least able to get some good uses. These are really helpful if you’re a hoarder like me. (I don’t blame you, the sale makes us do it!)
I do want to do more project pans which are a bit more successful than this one, lol!

I love the idea of setting yourself a challenge to finish something right to the bottom of the pan! I think I’ll have to take some inspiration from you and do this myself – I have so many body butters etc that I don’t use enough, and really should try use them up!

Hey! Yes please do a project pan too. It just helps so much into finishing things up. I hoard so much of body butters and shower gels during sales and they keep lying in the shelf. These project pans help a lot. xx

It is always a good idea to finish existing products first and then go for new buys.. but these sales and obsession..? I like your choice for pan project for these summer days..❤️
