So I did a mini Khadi Natural Haul from Nykaa, they had their 6th Anniversary sale on and these products were at 10-15% off. So let’s move on to read first impressions and a bit more about the brand and products.
Khadi offers 100% paraben free handmade herbal products that are also SLS, mineral oil, and cruelty-free!
I tried Khadi Natural Aloe Vera & Mint Massage gel and it worked really nice for me so I thought of trying a few more from them. I ordered hand-made soaps, shower gel, hair oil, and shampoo.
All the bottled products have the same simple packaging with flip open cap (a little troublesome when you’re in the shower. I prefer pump packaging or something that opens up easily!)
1. Khadi Natural Shikakai Herbal Hair Oil & Cleanser
Shikkakai is a very known ingredient known to keep hair healthy, strong and shiny.
a) Oil: Regular oil massage is something all brown girls religiously follow, it increases circulation, makes hair strong and shiny.
The Khadi Shikakai Oil has a mild smell and is very lightweight and non-sticky. I have used this once after which I washed it off with the Khadi Shikkakai shampoo.
Price: ₹125 for 210ml
b) Shampoo: I have been thinking of switching to SLS free and more natural options since the chemically loaded shampoos don’t do much to my hair, except for causing scalp irritation and product buildup.
I have used this shampoo twice. It left my hair clean, non-frizzy (I don’t have very frizzy hair anyway), soft and light. I skipped conditioner since the tips weren’t dry or rough like they usually are with the shampoos I have used in the past.
Took 2-3 washes to completely get rid of oil. The shampoo doesn’t lather a lot due to the absence of SLS but cleanses nicely. I have oily scalp and it kept my scalp oil-free for 2 days.
Coming to the anti-hair fall and strong hair claim, I would need to use it more to see how it works and will write a detailed review.
Price: ₹115 for 210ml
2. Khadi Natural Lavender & Ylang Ylang Herbal Body Wash
I used it once and a small amount was enough to cover the entire body. Lathers quite less and cleans skin. I am not sure of the fragrance, it didn’t put me off but wasn’t soothing or relaxing that made me help fall asleep (maybe because I’m always sleepy I don’t need aroma for that).
My body skin is a bit on the drier side so I couldn’t skip moisturizer.
Price: ₹130 for 210 ml
3. Khadi Natural Handmade Herbal Soaps
Coming to the cutest stuff, I ordered 4 different soaps namely
- Pure Mint
- Lemongrass
- Neem-Tulsi
- Apricot Scrub
They all come packed in a plastic and are very soft. I dropped them twice and they were all deformed from the corners. Smell nice, haven’t tried any but looking forward to it.
The Khadi Apricot Scrub one would be great for body exfoliation because I’m too lazy for a loofah or pumice stone.
Price: ₹70 for 125g (each)
4. I got a Nykaa nail paint in shade Cappuccino worth ₹179 free with all these so yayay!
If you’re someone who’s thinking of switching to more natural and cruelty-free options without burning a hole in the pocket, you should definitely try these! They are really good quality products.
Also, I want to try a lot of other products from this brand but most of them are out of stock so all I can do is wait…
PS: Khadi does international shipping too!
Do you use more chemical-free products or are you willing to switch? Which is your favourite brand in that case? Let me know in the comments 🙂
