My Thoughts on The Magic Potion Nourishing Hair Pack
Some 6-7 months ago, my hair fall got to worse from bad. I’d have hair strands falling over the floor I just passed by which was even pointed out by one of my friends. (Embarrassing? Yes, very much!) I lost so much hair that I still have spots where the density is very less.
I changed the city I was living in (not because of the hairfall, LOL!), went to a dermatologist and followed the medicines for some time. I can’t stand them so I stopped. Also, I wasn’t seeing any huge difference. I even got my thyroid checked because my mom has it and it could be one of the reasons. All the test results were fine!
The dandruff issue also reached its peak which was one of the main causes of my hair fall. I tried Sebamed’s Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and that made me lose my hair exponentially and didn’t work AT ALL on dandruff.
So enough about my sad story and let’s talk about the nourishing hair pack now.
Then I came across this hair pack that had Reetha, Shikakai, Bhringaraj and Brahmi as some of their key ingredients. And these ingredients are known to work! My grandmom and mom used to swear by these and I’ve often bought these individually and mixed to make a hair pack in the past. What’s better? It’s extremely affordable!
Packaging
The Magic Potion hair pack comes in a glass jar with a golden coloured lid. The container definitely needs to be handled carefully and isn’t travel-friendly. However, it looks very simple and beautiful. You also get a wooden spoon with it to scoop the product out. All the product details, ingredients list and application tips are mentioned at the back.
Texture & Smell

The nourishing hair pack comes in powdered form and is a hay-coloured blend of some amazing herbs. The smell is pretty much like dried henna leaves with a hint of chooran. (Just desi things!) Amd the smell doesn’t go completely after washing the hair.
Application
What does the brand say?
- Oil the hair well before applying the mask.
- Depending upon the hair thickness and length, take a generous amount of the pack into a bowl.
- Mix it with curd, lemon or egg white to get best results.
However, I don’t agree with the application of lemon anywhere on the skin, it’s too acidic (pH 2) and might harm sensitive skin.
What do I do?
- Oil my hair.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of curd/yogurt with one and a half spoon (the one that’s provided with the hair pack) of the nourishing hair pack powder. And apply this paste all over the scalp. I have shoulder-length hair and this is the quantity that works for me.
- Rinse the pack with water after an hour or so.
- Follow up with my regular shampoo and conditioner.

I haven’t tried with egg white but you can definitely do so. Just avoid using lemon. And you HAVE to oil your hair before applying this hair pack. Otherwise, it’d leave your hair dry.
How does it work?
The first time I mixed the hair pack with water as I didn’t have curd at home but was too curious to give it a try. And it didn’t give me any significant results.
So the next time, I followed the instructions given in the label and mixed the hair pack with curd. I wouldn’t say it completely transformed my hair from the very first wash but my hair felt lighter and bouncier. Also, the itching due to dandruff decreased to quite an extent.
A few usages later, I noticed that my dandruff was completely gone and the hairfall reduced so much! Even today as I’m writing this, I see a very few strands when I comb my hair. And yes, the hair feels so light every time I use this. I’ve made it a point to apply this hair pack every Sunday without fail.
And this nourishing hair pack would last me around 4-5 months, I believe. It’s an amazing deal and I’m definitely going to restock it soon.
Conclusion
The only products that I vouch for and recommend to everyone with conviction are from The Ordinary but I’m changing that today. You have to get this hair pack if you want to improve your hair texture, if you want to get rid of dandruff or itchy scalp, or if you are facing hairfall.
However, if your hairfall issues are due to hormonal reasons, I don’t know whether it’d work or not. But it’s a good idea to use a hair pack regularly to maintain the health of your hair. (Just like you do with your face!)
Why You Should Buy The Magic Potion Nourishing Hair Pack?
- Gets rid of dandruff
- Leaves hair soft
- Gives bouncy hair
- Helps with hairfall
- Cruelty-Free
Why You Should Avoid The Magic Potion Nourishing Hair Pack?
- No reason at all.
Even if you decide against buying this hair pack, I’d recommend you to start masking hair as well. We don’t give it as much attention as our face which hurts its health. Start with using just curd/yogurt but definitely pamper them. Meanwhile, read this post to get some hair care tips for stronger hair.
