Project Pan & Declutter
Hey there! I’m starting a brand new project pan this year which I had been planning for the past few months. In today’s post, I’ll be taking out all my non-cruelty-free makeup items, declutter a few of them and keep the rest of them in my 2019’s first Project Pan. I’ll call this a Project Pan: No Cruelty Makeup Collection. (I’m honestly not able to think of another name, lol!). I’ve categorized the makeup, marked the current status and talked about each product in brief. So read on to know what I’m throwing and what I’ll be keeping 🙂
Let’s start with face products and everything I have here are from Maybelline. In fact, a majority of the products featured in this blog post are from Maybelline.

What I’m Keeping?
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation – 310 Sun Beige
I rarely use foundation and this is the only one I’ve ever used in my life. It’s quite hyped in the beauty industry and provides a nice satin finish with medium coverage. I want to try more cruelty-free foundations in future so I’ll put it in my project pan.
Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer
This is the only primer I have in my collection so I’ll keep this one. Since the brand is not cruelty-free, I’ll just put it in the project pan and finish it up this year. BTW it’s a good primer, blurs out the pores and gives a smooth canvas to work on.

I’ve marked the quantity left and that will be used as a reference to track my progress throughout the year.
What I’m Decluttering?
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – 25 Medium
Firstly, this is not my perfect shade. I bought this when this was the “DARKEST” shade available in India. I tried using it for brightening purpose but don’t feel motivated to try to make it work. I have used it around 5-6 times only and it’s better that it goes to someone who’ll use it.
Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush – Creamy Cinnamon
I have used this blush quite a lot of time. With constant usage, I have even flattened it from the top but I don’t want this anymore. I have 2 more cruelty-free blushes that I want to play with. It’s a beautiful peachy coral blush with buildable intensity and fine shimmer particles.
Next up we have a few eye products that are from different brands but they’re all the ones that test on animals.

What I’m Keeping?
L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara
A much-raved mascara by Loreal that I have used only 4-5 times. The mascara is pretty good but since I was working on my Essence Lash Princess Mascara (Cruelty-free, affordable and good quality), I couldn’t use this much. The essence one is about to end so I’ll start working on this and hope to finish it up by the end of the year. So this goes straight into my project pan.
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl – Nude
I was disheartened to know that Rimmel is not cruelty-free. This nude eye pencil is very smooth and makes you look like you’ve had your 7 hours of sleep. I’ll put this into my project pan and try to use it up this year. Below I’ve added a picture and I’ve marked where I am now. This will help me track my growth.
My current status with the Rimmel pencil. It’s as good as new and hasn’t been sharpened many times.
What I’m Decluttering?
L’Oréal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Eyeliner
Another loreal product here, but this one is T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E. I put it in my monthly stash, tried using it but I literally have to go over 50 times and then use another liner on top of it to get the opacity. All this process is truly not worth my time and energy. I want makeup to be fun, not a punishment. So, I’m throwing this away and I regret buying it!

Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil – Brown
I have used this 2 times maybe and it’s just so warm-toned. And it has the most awful chemically smell that would make you want to puke. The quality isn’t that good either. I held on to it in the hope that I’ll try to use it up someday but that’s not happening. So, I’m decluttering it.
Lastly, we have a few lipsticks in here. Out of these 4, I’ll be decluttering one and keeping three.

What I’m Keeping?
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick – Crazy For Coffee
By now you must have guessed my obsession with Maybelline. It was one of the very few drugstore makeup brands that were available in India until a few years ago so I mainly bought stuff from them. This one is a mauvy-nude lipstick with a creme finish and I am including it in my project pan.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick – 128 Starry Eyed
This is in my maybe list as I don’t want to throw it out and maybe try to get at least a few uses out of it. I struggled so much to get this shade because it was always out of stock. It’s a very pretty plum colour. But it has a strong vanilla-flavoured-medicine kind of smell that puts me off. So I think I’ll try to use it and if I don’t in the next few months, I’ll declutter it.

Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Colour Balm – Bountiful Blush
This is not a lipstick but since it’s too boujee and expensive to be called a lip-balm, I’m including it here. I like the product so I’m putting it in my project pan to use it up by the end of the year. I have another one from the same range but I use that one regularly so I know I’ll be finishing it off anyway.
The Maybelline and Clinique lipsticks pretty much look the same on lips.

Current quantity of all the three lipsticks are marked to help me track the progress.
What I’m Decluttering?
Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick – Selfie Red
I’m not sure if this brand is cruelty-free or not as this is pretty much limited to India and animal testing is banned here. However, it’s owned by Hindustan Unilever which is NOT cruelty-free.
My main reason to include it here is to declutter it. I don’t use it so it’s better that I take it out of my stash. I have used this maybe once or twice and this lipstick, especially the shade, doesn’t really excite me.
I have reviewed this shade and a lot more from Elle 18 previously, so you can go through it if you’re interested in some really cheap lipsticks. Read it HERE.
Project Pan & Declutter: CONCLUSION
Let’s do a quick review of what I’m decluttering:
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – 25 Medium
- Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush – Creamy Cinnamon
- L’Oréal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Eyeliner
- Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil – Brown
- Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick – Selfie Red

And these are the rest of the stuff that I’m going to start my first project pan of the year with. If I’m able to pull this project successfully, I’ll have a 100% (minus 1 product) cruelty-free makeup collection. This project will go on for the entire year so that I have enough time to enjoy them and not hurry too much. I’ll be doing a 3-month update regularly.
- Maybelline Fit Me Matte And Poreless Foundation – 310 Sun Beige
- Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer
- L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara
- Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl – Nude
- Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks – Crazy For Coffee
- Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick – 128 Starry Eyed
- Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Colour Balm – Bountiful Blush

The one product I’m talking about is my MAC Ruby Woo lipstick which is pretty new and expensive. It was my dream to own a Ruby Woo and I got it when I wasn’t very much aware of cruelty-free stuff so I’ll hold on to it for now.
Now that my non-cruelty-free makeup collection is fairly reduced I can very well see myself accomplishing my goal of having a Cruelty-Free Stash by the end of this year. And start exploring some really great cruelty-free makeup from next year.
