I’ve been really enjoying trying out different face cleansers lately and some of them have totally ticked (almost) all the boxes for me. One such cleanser is by Pixi – their Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel whose texture, firstly, surprised me. It’s truly a gel and yes NO FOAM at all.
That’s not it, it doesn’t disappoint you in terms of performance either! Read my review on this cleanser to know if this is the right one for you.

My Thoughts on Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel
The Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel is a cruelty-free and vegan facewash that I’ve been loving recently.
Packaging
The cleansing gel comes in a beautiful pastel coloured tube with a flip open cap. The cap is easy to open and close so big nail girls won’t have any issue. All the details like ingredients, directions and description are mentioned at the back.

Texture & Smell
The Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel has a transparent gel texture that doesn’t lather AT ALL! When you apply it on your face, there would be little slip so you can massage it well but no foam! I tried using more than required to see if it lathers but nope, it doesn’t. I think it gives the feel of a gentle gel-based exfoliant.
The smell is slightly citrusy but not too overpowering. This facewash has added ‘Fragrance’ which is a skin irritant. But since this is going to be in contact with your skin for just 30 seconds, it’s fine.

How to Use?
- Apply a small amount to damp skin.
- Massage gently for 30 seconds, avoiding the eye area.
- Rinse clean & pat dry.
- Follow up with the rest of your skincare routine.
- Use AM & PM daily.
This gel cleanser isn’t enough to remove all the dirt, sunscreen and makeup so a double cleanse is necessary at night. In the morning, use it as the only cleanse.
As I said the Pixi cleansing gel doesn’t lather at all so please don’t go too harsh while massaging and focus on the word “gentle”. It comes off with a very few splashes, leaving the face all clean and soft.
Is It Good?
It is amazing! I absolutely love how it cleans my face so gently and leaves it soft and smooth. It’s definitely one of the best cleansers that I’ve ever tried! The cleanser has glycolic acid which gives this cleansing gel its exfoliating properties. The brand hasn’t disclosed the concentration but I don’t think it’s more than 2% or so. (wild guess)

Since the glycolic acid is present in a very small amount and is in contact with your skin for barely 30 seconds, you can use it twice daily without the fear of over-exfoliating.
In fact, I continue with my leave-on acid treatments after washing my face with this cleanser and haven’t faced any issue so you can do this too as long as your skin doesn’t react badly. Make sure to apply sunscreen when you’re stepping out.
It does have a higher price tag especially in India so my countrymen, you guys can give the Vilvah Honey Fix Face Cleanser a try. It’s an affordable, gentle cleanser that has natural AHAs and fruit enzymes to give mild exfoliation alongwith cleansing the face.
Conclusion
The Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel is definitely one of my favourite cruelty-free cleansers that’s gentle, non-drying and pH balanced. It’s something that every skin type can use without hesitation and you should give the cleanser a try too if it fits your budget.
