Let’s talk about this one of the most talked about micellar water that has been making buzz since what feels like forever. This is my first micellar water/ makeup remover so I don’t have a particular standard to compare it to.
I have used almond and olive oil for removing makeup until I got my hands on this. Oils work great but need more effort than this micellar water.
Price: ₹349 for 400 ml
It’s said that you don’t need to rinse afterwards but it leaves a sticky film on my oily face so I have to follow it up with my regular cleanser (Double Cleansing is in anyway!) I use it just to remove makeup and it gets work done easily.
Description, Direction & Ingredients:
This variant is for regular, non-waterproof makeup but I think it gets rid of all kinds except for waterproof mascara. In fact, it struggles with some water-resistant mascara as well.
Still works good on my Essence Lash Princess Mascara but that baby goes off even with plain water!
What you should do is take some of it in a cotton ball or pad then gently press/keep it over the area you want to clean so that it breaks the makeup down and wipe it off. Don’t rub or apply pressure, you don’t need that and it harms your skin.
Swatches of liquid lipsticks from Wet n Wild, NYX SMLC, Essence eye pencil, Jordana eye pencil, Faces eye pencil, Essence mascara. (L-R)
I didn’t swatch it but it removes high-end matte lipsticks too. Also, base makeup? Squeaky clean!
What I love the most is how easily it takes makeup off! You don’t have to keep massaging to break products off like in the case of oils. Removes makeup thoroughly, but make sure to cleanse your face with regular cleanser in case you wear a full face. There’s always some left.
It has not resulted in breakouts and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I have heard some bloggers complaining about it stinging their eyes but I haven’t found anything of that sort on me at least.
Also, I am eager to try Bioderma. Well, let’s just wait till this one gets over. And I don’t see it happening any soon. You literally need a few drops to clean your face thoroughly.
It’s gentle, has no oil, alcohol or fragrance and really affordable!
Would the Garnier Micellar Water replace my regular cleansers? No
Is it my go-to product for makeup removal? YES!
Have you used this product or which is your go-to makeup removers? Let me know, I need new options.
PS: Do you use cotton pads or cotton balls? I feel cotton balls get the work done so I don’t tend to spend a bit extra on those pretty pads.
Thank you for reading! 🙂

This was my first makeup remover too and it works great! It did sting my eyes a little bit when I first used it but after a while, it was not so bad. I’m trying out another Garnier Micellar Water too that has the oil mix in. I actually like the original one better. Great post!
