Flower Beauty Style Eyes Liquid Eyeliner in Onyx Ink Review

Flower Beauty Style Eyes Liquid Eyeliner Review

If you’ve been following me for a while, you must know my love for liquid eyeliners. While some people find them a bit difficult to work with, my case is just the opposite. I feel more comfortable with liquid liners than gel or pencil. So when Nykaa gifted me a few Flower Beauty products to try, my hands went straight to the eyeliner. Let’s see how the product fared out for me and whether I recommend you guys to give this product a try.

About the Brand

Drew Barrymore’s gift to everyone, the brand Flower Beauty brings her message of empowerment and optimism with her own beauty collection that lets everyone achieve the effortless beauty look just like her. The brand offers a luxurious range of cruelty-free cosmetics and professional tools that not only make life easier and more fun but look and feel amazing!

My Thoughts on Flower Beauty Style Eyes Liquid Eyeliner

Ever since I got my hands on this Flower Beauty eyeliner, I’ve been wearing it whenever I go out and sometimes when I’m at home doing absolutely nothing. I’ve always had a sweet crush on Drew Barrymore and her high-quality makeup line just made me fall in love with her again.

Packaging

The Flower Beauty eyeliner has a sleek, glossy black tube packaging and it comes in an outer cardboard box that mentions product details.

The applicator of the flower beauty liquid eyeliner is similar to L’Oréal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Eyeliner but thinner. It was one of the worst makeup purchases for me because of the horrible formula, texture and longevity but the only thing good about that Loreal eyeliner was the applicator.

Flower Beauty Style Eyes Liquid Eyeliner Applicator
Eyeliner Applicator

It’s not your regular brush applicator that you get in liquid eyeliners, neither a felt tip; Flower Beauty describes it as a “Flexi-style tip”. The applicator is thin so you can create a sharp wing and it’s flexible with a long wand so you have a good control while drawing the lines. But it’ll take you a little time to get used to the incredibly thin applicator but once you do, you’ll be able to draw the sharpest wings.

Texture & Application

The consistency of the Flower Beauty eyeliner is not too liquidy and it sets to a matte finish on drying. The applicator glides smoothly over the lids without tugging/ dragging but the biggest downside is that the eyeliner takes a lot of time (say 5 minutes or so) to dry down completely. If you have hooded eyes, you might risk the product transferring to your lids. You won’t experience any bleeding with this eyeliner and it’s water-resistant (not waterproof)

Pigmentation

The pigmentation of the Flower Beauty eyeliner is spot on! The shade Onyx Ink is a proper black but definitely not the blackest black eyeliner I’ve ever seen.

A common problem with most of the drugstore eyeliners is that they look ash-black instead of true black on drying down but this is not one of those liners. It looks as black on drying down as it does when it’s wet and gives an opaque finish in just one coat but layers beautifully if you want to go for a second one.

Staying Power

This eyeliner stays for 7-8 hours, it just doesn’t budge as long as you don’t rub your eyes. Once you rub the eyes, everything just comes off.

I have very oily lids and that combined with humid weather is a big no-no for most of the eye makeup. But this one stays pretty much all day if left untouched.

Conclusion

If you’re in the market for a cruelty-free, drugstore black liquid eyeliner that stays all day then Flower Beauty Style Eyes in shade Onyx Ink is definitely a good-buy. It does come with a slight con of not drying down fast but I’m up for trying out other colours from the range. Keep an eye on sales because I’ve seen it go as low as ~INR 650 on Nykaa and USD 5 on Flower Beauty’s official website.

Why You Should Buy Flower Beauty Style Eyes Liquid Eyeliner?

  • Highly Pigmented
  • Cruelty-free
  • Thin tip gives precise application
  • Doesn’t bleed
  • Smudge-proof
  • Water-resistant
  • High staying power

Why You Should Avoid Flower Beauty Style Eyes Liquid Eyeliner?

  • Takes a long time to set
  • Not waterproof
  • One would need a little time to get the hang of applicator

I've used the cleansing oil a few times & compared I've used the cleansing oil a few times & compared to my Softymo cleansing oil, the texture is very thin and lightweight. And this has some scent to it. So far I like both but the choice will be made when I finish them & have to buy a new one.😉

The Centella Cleansing Ampoule Foam has been in my routine for weeks now. I expected a drying cleanser given the pearly finish but I'm surprised! It foams and cleanses well, but it also feels hydrating... or should I say more balanced.

@skin1004official [PR-gifted] I have the full range and I'm discovering everything slowly. I am looking forward to doing blog reviews so I can go in detail with ingredients & comparison with several other products I like from other brands.

I love picking on my skin especially when it's dry so the only way to avoid that is to keep it nourished and this nail & cuticle oil by @essie has been a blessing!

I'm sure there are many brands that have cuticle oil, I've tried Araina when I was in India and it was decent. So no crying about availability, go oil your cuticles.👋

So far the @skin1004official has been really good - foams well but leaves a hydrating feel after rinsing.

I can't tell the difference between Avene & LRP thermal spray but they're both helpful with soothing.

Haven't put it down since the day I bought this. I prefer to wear it as a tint by blurring the product on my lips, such a flattering shade.☺️

👉The application is smooth, I don't need to drag and tug at my lips.
👉Lasts very long. After a meal, it'll fade away but leave a beautiful tint behind.
👉Has a light minty smell but doesn't sting the lips.
👉Matte but comfortable.

📝My criteria for selection was to prioritize the ones that perform the best against MY major concerns like 👉bumpy skin due to ingrown hair, clogged pores (the CeraVe combo works like a charm, I use the cleanser on my face too💙), 👉an anti-perspirant that doesn't dry out or irritate the underarm skin, and 👉a body cream that relieves & nourishes my dry body skin.

🏆Honorary mention: Uriage & Bioderma cleansing oil - y'all were great to me but exfoliating wash was a priority sorry.🤭 Same goes for Garnier 🍉 body food, you're my summer & autumn bestie!
