Have you ever come across some lipsticks that just blew your mind? Something that ticks all the boxes from comfort to longevity or the beautiful shade choices?
This is what happened when I bought the Colourpop Lippie Stix in the shades Kapish and Lumiere. Their formula has my heart and I thought it’s mandatory for me to share these amazing lipsticks with you so you can also experience some lipstick-nirvana with me!
Product Description
Get one swipe pigmentation in a full-coverage, matte/ ultra-matte finish in a super comfortable formula loaded with skin-loving ingredients like shea butter and Vitamin E.
Price: $6 for 1.0g (0.035oz)
The quantity offered is quite less as compared to standard lipsticks where you get around 4g. If you multiply, it’d make lippie stix priced similar to medium to high-end brands’ lipsticks.
Availability: You can buy these from Colourpop’s website.
Colourpop Lippie Stix Review
I LOVE Colourpop. There, I said it! My first ever eyeshadow palette was the Colourpop Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette. And I was so impressed that I couldn’t help but place a huge order on their website to try out other products.
The Lippe Stix held the #1 spot in my wishlist and rightfully so. I love them dearly and I don’t know what I’d do without them in my vanity. Read the review and you’d know why.
Packaging

The lippie stix come in a basic white lipstick tube with ColourPop Lippie Stix written on the side.
The bottom of the lipsticks mention the shade name and are coloured as the lipstick shade so it’s easier for you to identify the shade in a pile of several other lipsticks.
The cap shuts with a click and when you open it you’d find the lipstick handle is also colour-coded. The packaging is sleek, basic and travel-friendly. They come enclosed in a cutely designed cardboard box.
Texture & Smell
The Colourpop Lippie Stix comes in 3 distinct finishes – Crème, Matte and Matte X. I own two shades from this amazing collection – Lumiere (Matte) & Kapish (Matte X).
These are so lightweight that you won’t feel like you’ve applied anything on your lips. The formula is comfortable and long-lasting so you won’t end up with dry, peeling lips at the end of the day.
The Lippie Stix have a very mild smell that’s undetectable and won’t bother you.
Now, coming to individual shades,

Both the shades of Colourpop Lippie Stic, Kapish and Lumiere, are vegan and offer high pigmentation. One swipe is all you need to get an opaque finish! Kapish offers a Matte X (ultra-matte) finish while Lumiere has a matte finish.
COLOURPOP LIPPIE STIX – Kapish
Kapish is a dusty warm brown lipstick that would look great on every skin colour but it will look exceptionally good on brown women. This is our shade ladies!

The finish of the Kapish Lippie Stix is powdery matte and feels very comfortable and lightweight. If you have very chapped lips, it might accentuate the crustiness a little.
Kapish is a lippie stix sister to Colourpop’s liquid lipstick in the shade ‘Wild Nothing’ and it’s a TRUE MATTE.
COLOURPOP LIPPIE STIX – Lumiere
Lumiere is a light dusty mauve lipstick that’d look great on light to medium skin tones, anyone lighter than NC 40. I am NC 42 and it washes me out.
However, I do have a thing for pinky nudes that slightly wash me off and I love to pair those with smokey eyes and a full face of makeup. So unless you have a similar fetish, this shade won’t look flattering on you.

The finish of Lumiere lippie stix is demi-matte (it reflects some light) that leans more towards matte as the day goes by. Also, the formula of Lumiere is softer than Kapish which is basically why it broke a little on the tip.
Application
The texture of both the Colourpop lippie stix is matte but I find Kapish to be more powder matte than Lumiere. These lippie stix glide smoothly on the lips with no tugging and pulling.

In fact, they apply so smoothly and give high pigment in one swipe that I AM A FAN! I have never come across a proper matte formula that’s as comfortable as Kapish. They do transfer a little but it won’t bother you much.
Over time it will settle into the lip lines, especially Kapish, but it won’t feel even one bit drying. I don’t use any lip balm underneath and it works well for me but if you have very dry lips I’d recommend exfoliating them and put some lip balm. OR use creme-finish lipsticks!
Staying Power
The lippie stix stay easily last around 6-ish hours and can survive lighter meals. With oily food, they start to disappear from the centre of the lips. As the hours go by, they do start to settle into the lip lines.
I really enjoy the longevity of Colourpop’s Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks, they are comfortable to wear and even after fading the tint they leave behind is very strong. You can check out my review of Colourpop Frick N’ Frack lipstick from the same range.
Conclusion
The Colourpop lippie stix are a must-have in every woman’s vanity and I’m not exaggerating. The formula is comfortable, fully packed with pigments and last almost all day and that combined with the fact that they’re vegan and cruelty-free, I’d say get it before you regret it.
