6 Best Glossier Products You Need To Try On Your Next Retail Therapy

I’ve been an avid reader of Into The Gloss ever since its inception, solely because of all the celebrity Top Shelf articles on there that gave me a glimpse into the beauty regimes of my favourite people.

When I came to know that Emily Weiss of Into The Gloss was going to start a skincare line, I was beyond excited. The hype for me was REAL.

Glossier was launched in 2014 and while it was a colossal effort for me to contain my excitement, I held back. The skeptic in me wanted to take her time before inevitably giving in to the enticement.

One by one, the new products started rolling in, each with cuter packaging and bigger claims than the next, and I saw that all of my favourite social media “It Girls” were using their products.

Eventually, I caved in and placed a Glossier order. I am so glad that I did because under all the marketing hype and the adorable packaging, I have managed to find some real gems that have made my life so much easier. And I’m here to share my experiences with Glossier skincare and makeup with you all!

glossier milk jelly cleanser balm dot com and primer review

1. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

This was one of the first products launched by Glossier and it quickly gained a following, with very good reason. Milky Jelly Cleanser, or MJC (as I like to call it), is a viscous rose-scented gel.

Now while I am a major proponent of fragrance-free skincare products, I do find myself reaching out for this cleanser quite often, solely because of its texture. The thick, milky gel is non-foaming and I prefer to use it as a second cleanse in my PM routine.

I massage a couple of pumps of Milky Jelly Cleanser into my dry skin (after I’m done oil cleansing), and take it off with sweeps of a warm washcloth. It makes for a lovely, relaxing experience after a long day.

I would recommend Milky Jelly Cleanser for everyone who is looking for a non-foaming cleanser that cleans well but doesn’t leave the skin feeling stripped. My retinoid treated skin definitely loves it to bits!

2. Glossier Priming Moisturizer

This moisturizer, housed in a pretty, pastel-pink tube is such a treat for my skin, y’all. True to its name, the Priming Moisturizer is great for prepping my combination skin prior to makeup application.

I massage a dollop of this into my damp skin post cleansing and really take my time to work it into my skin, before letting it sit for 5 minutes. Once it has soaked into my skin, I am left with the perfect, hydrated yet not oily canvas. Ready for makeup application.

But don’t limit this moisturizer only to makeup prep! I’ve used it as a step in my AM skincare routine on days when I won’t be wearing any makeup and my skin has loved it just the same. Oily to combination skinned beauties will adore this moisturizer.

3. Glossier Balm Dotcom

It might be easy to dismiss Balm Dotcom as “just another tube of Vaseline” but don’t do the same mistake I did! It is much more than just a lip balm. Packed full of natural moisturizers like Beeswax and Castor Oil, the Balm Dotcom is a thick salve.

While it comes in many versions (eg: Mint, Mango, Cherry, etc), I will always continue to prefer the trusty ol’ Original version. Why? It is a “do it all” balm with no fragrance.

I smear on a layer of it all over my lips before bedtime and apply the excess to my nail cuticles as well. And every morning, when I wake up and wipe off the balm from my lips with a baby wipe, I am left with the softest, smoothest, plump, and hydrated lips. Love!

Skint Tint & Stretch Concealer

4. GLOSSIER Perfecting Skin Tint

The Perfecting Skin Tint is exactly what the name suggests it to be: a watery base product that has just enough coverage to even out the skin.

Don’t expect high coverage from this product. It offers extremely sheer coverage that is just enough to even out the skin without hiding freckles or scarring.

I tend to reach out for the Perfecting Skin Tint on days when I don’t want to mask my skin under a layer of foundation. After applying a light layer of the Perfecting Skin Tint with my fingers, I go in with a concealer (preferably the Stretch Concealer) over any breakouts/dark circles.

It works great on those no-makeup makeup days when you want to look put together with barely any effort. Every skin type will love the Perfecting Skin Tint, because of its water-like texture that quickly sinks into the skin. I am in the shade G6.

5. GLOSSIER Stretch Concealer

This is the perfect accompaniment to the Perfecting Skin Tint. Whatever the tint fails to cover on my skin, the Stretch Concealer most definitely conceals it in a jiffy.

I love this little pot of goodness, simply because of how it mimicks the texture of my skin, no matter how oily or dry it is feeling on any given day. It never looks cakey or creases, especially under my eyes or over breakouts and it covers all of my problem areas in one fell swoop.

The combination of the Perfecting Skin Tint and Stretch Concealer gives me the dewiest, glowy, and seamless looking skin with ease. The concealer is available in 12 shades, so finding one that fits your skin colouring will be easier. I am in the shade G7.

glossier cloud paint dusk and haze review
Cloud Paints

6. GLOSSIER Cloud Paint

If you are a cream blush novice and are looking for a product that you simply cannot go wrong with, allow me to recommend Cloud Paint to you.

It is an intensely pigmented gel-cream that simply melts into your skin with a few sweeps of your fingers. I own the shades Dusk (a brownish nude) and Haze (a deep berry).

Just dab on a few dots of the blush gel-cream onto the apples of your cheeks and gently blend it in with a few sweeps of your fingers. The pigment will become one with your skin, working to give you the most natural flush possible.

And once it sets, it will NOT move from your skin until you cleanse it off with an oil-based cleanser. The best part about Cloud Paint is that if you are bored of using one shade, you can mix two (or three) and create your own custom shade! I’ve got Puff and Beam on my wishlist next!

The Centella Cleansing Ampoule Foam has been in my routine for weeks now. I expected a drying cleanser given the pearly finish but I'm surprised! It foams and cleanses well, but it also feels hydrating... or should I say more balanced.

@skin1004official [PR-gifted] I have the full range and I'm discovering everything slowly. I am looking forward to doing blog reviews so I can go in detail with ingredients & comparison with several other products I like from other brands.

I love picking on my skin especially when it's dry so the only way to avoid that is to keep it nourished and this nail & cuticle oil by @essie has been a blessing!

I'm sure there are many brands that have cuticle oil, I've tried Araina when I was in India and it was decent. So no crying about availability, go oil your cuticles.👋

So far the @skin1004official has been really good - foams well but leaves a hydrating feel after rinsing.

I can't tell the difference between Avene & LRP thermal spray but they're both helpful with soothing.

Haven't put it down since the day I bought this. I prefer to wear it as a tint by blurring the product on my lips, such a flattering shade.☺️

👉The application is smooth, I don't need to drag and tug at my lips.
👉Lasts very long. After a meal, it'll fade away but leave a beautiful tint behind.
👉Has a light minty smell but doesn't sting the lips.
👉Matte but comfortable.

📝My criteria for selection was to prioritize the ones that perform the best against MY major concerns like 👉bumpy skin due to ingrown hair, clogged pores (the CeraVe combo works like a charm, I use the cleanser on my face too💙), 👉an anti-perspirant that doesn't dry out or irritate the underarm skin, and 👉a body cream that relieves & nourishes my dry body skin.

🏆Honorary mention: Uriage & Bioderma cleansing oil - y'all were great to me but exfoliating wash was a priority sorry.🤭 Same goes for Garnier 🍉 body food, you're my summer & autumn bestie!
