I am always on the lookout for affordable face packs which are cruelty-free and sans any harmful chemicals like paraben, SLS, petrochemicals, etc. I found this Anti Blemish Pack from Aaranyaa that has mainly Orange Peel and Sandalwood.
This has some more amazing ingredients, read on to find that and whether it worked for me or not!
Actually, for those of you who are a bit lazy to read the entire review, let me just say it worked horribly. Let’s get to the review and my horrible experience, shall we?

Price: ₹245 for 100g
Shelf Life: 03/20

This is available on Nykaa, Smytten and Flipkart. I bought it from Smytten.
Ingredients & Directions

Talking about a few ingredients’ advantages (excluding the ones that have already been explained in BENEFITS)
Kaolin and Bentonite have oil absorbing and cleansing properties.
Niacinamide is amazing to brighten up the skin.
MY THOUGHTS
If there’s one skincare product I’m obsessed with, it’d be face packs! I love how they detoxify and clear out the skin, so people like me who have oily and congested skin NEED face packs or masks.
This Aaranyaa face pack is cruelty-free and free of crazy harmful chemicals.
Packaging
It comes in a matte mustard coloured tube which is packed with a plastic cover so you know you’re not getting an old used product.

It has a flip open cap which opens and closes easily. You can control the amount of product that comes out and since it’s a tube packaging, it’s hygienic. Nothing too fancy here but basic and convenient and I have no complaints.
Texture
The face pack is very pale yellow in colour and has tiny beads which do not cause any abrasion and not at all rough on the skin. You won’t even feel much of their presence when you apply it or wash it off.
The face pack is slightly thick but spreads easily. It takes some 15 minutes to dry up but doesn’t feel stretchy (unlike other clay-based masks)

How did it work?
I usually use a skincare product for at least 2-3 weeks before writing a review on it because skincare takes time. But with this one, it only took me 1 application. Why? Because it gave me terrible reactions and I’m definitely not going to put myself through the same horror.
Directions say it has to be used after exfoliating your skin but I just used a cleanser and then applied it. On applying, my entire face started stinging but I ignored it.
I have used some Direct Acids on my face in the past which stung initially (way less than the face pack but still…) so I ignored it blaming my sensitive skin and thought it would be fine once I wash it off. Maybe that’s how it worked!
Result of the Face Pack?
I washed it off after 15 minutes and the stinging increased. I looked at the mirror while wiping my face and there it was! A face that’s completely red! Yes, it was all red; my cheeks, my chin, my forehead… everything was deep red.

The redness calmed down after an hour or so and I was left with red spots on cheeks and forehead and swollen cheeks (I already have big cheeks, I don’t need more!). The face was quite itchy and all these things lasted for 2 days.
I have sensitive skin but I have never faced a reaction of this sort from any other product, given the fact that I have used some potent products with up to 30% AHA.
The funniest part is, all these horrors I went through gave me nothing. My face was just a bit softer and smoother; nothing that any other face pack couldn’t give minus the reactions.
I don’t know which ingredient I was allergic to because I am acquainted with almost all of them. This product was a huge bummer and I am going to give myself a rest and avoid trying new products which haven’t been talked about much.

Also, after giving a try to a lot of different products (most of them worked just fine) I’m going back to my The Ordinary Skincare Routine because that’s what works on me and spare me the horror of a red, swollen face.
I did look funny though, wish I had a picture!

Conclusion
It didn’t work for me at all and give me some serious reactions. I would personally not recommend it to anyone. But not all of us have the same skin type, it might work for you.
And if you still want to give it a try, be my guest. Actually, take my tube as I don’t have an option but to throw it out.
Have a look at this easy DIY Face Pack for Oily skin that I swear by! It won’t hurt your pocket either.
